I will admit that this review is 50% taken from a previous review which I could not have written better. So I didn't. I changed a few things, and added QUITE a bit. I am saddened to write this review.
INCREDIBLY UNDERSTAFFED PHARMACY!!! I believe there are two or three registers but I have never seen more than one cashier working at a time. They seem to be nice enough, but NEVER MAKE EYE CONTACT! So they're nice, BUT in no way dependable enough.
You'll get a phone call or a text message about prescriptions that are ready, then you wait in line 25 minutes OR MORE to find out they haven't even been filled yet!!! SERIOUSLY? HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN, MONTH AFTER MONTH? AM I THE ONLY PERSON THAT HAS THESE PROBLEMS WITH THIS PARTICULAR CVS?
And sometimes you'll get several phone calls for a couple of days about prescriptions that are ready for pick up, you show up when you're back in town, AND THEY HAVE'NT EVEN BEEN FILED!!! Then, you wait. At this point you're so frustrated that you're not on your game, so by the time you pick up your prescriptions you just grab them and leave, only to get home and realize that the prescriptionsame are wrong in some capacity, or there are two prescriptions in the bag when you were picking up three or more. I can't tell you how often that happens!
And I kick myself in the butt for not checking. But it's always one of those situations where I'm so frustrated by the time I'm leaving I don't even think to look. So I call and they say oh yeah there's a few more prescriptions here for you that you forgot to pick up. FORGOT TO PICK UP? LIKE SOMEHOW THIS IS MY MISTAKE?
AND GET THIS! ONCE, I GOT HOME, OPENED THE BOTTLE TO TAKE MY MEDICATION BEFORE I WENT TO BED, AND LITERALLY, AS I WAS BRINGING IT UP TO MY MOUTH I REALIZED SOMETHING WASN'T RIGHT AND JERKED MY ARM AWAY JUST IN TIME!
I stopped and looked at the pills which looked similar to my pills coincidentally but something was off. I put them down and looked at the bottle and at first I realized the name of the medication was not the name of my medication. And then I was shocked to see that the patient name was not me! You can imagine the shock, God only knows what could have happened.
Once again when I called the pharmacy to let them know they casually told me just bring it back and we'll figure out the mix-up like it was no big deal. I have no idea how that happened with all of the scanning that takes place when you pick up your medication.
Eventually, about 6 months ago, I gave up and changed to a different CVS that is 10 miles out of way. I am so happy with my new CVS. I haven't had any problems, I never have to wait, EVER, there is a drive-thru, the staff are so friendly and although I've only been going there for six months they already know me by name and they always greet me with a smile. I don't want to share my new CVS, but want the same great service for all customers so I will tell you that the location is at 63 Canal Street in Millbury. I realize that this location is not easily accessible to people without cars. But if you have never had the same problem I have I'm telling you try this location I love them so much it's amazing!
I don't know what's going on with the CVS in Whitinsville, I had noticed that for the two years that I put up with everything there it did seem like a lot of the staff were the same, I don't know what the problem is I believe it might just be that there are too many customers for that location maybe they need to expand maybe they need to hire more staff I'm not sure.
The only thing that confuses me is how this has gone on for so long continually and why no one has ever done anything about it. CVS Prides itself on service with a smile and accurate prescription filling to say the least. You would think that they would have stepped in by now.
