Review of: Dr. Jacqueline Brecht, I had a very bad experience with Dr. Brecht. She is IMPOSSIBLE to communicate with! You have to call the office and then you talk with an office assistant who summarizes your problem and leaves a synopsis of the problem on the computer as a “note”. Dr. Brecht periodically reads these “notes” and instructs another officer worker to call you and relay her response. This is a very bad way to communicate! Much of what you say to the office worker is “lost in translation” to Dr. Brecht in the form of these “notes”. Obviously, Dr. Brecht’s responses are bad because the original “note” that had the synopsis is tainted! The whole process to communicate a simple question can take days, when a simple one minute call would have solved the whole issue! Additionally, you quickly feel that there is little to no “diagnostic” thought being put in. Just a series of test after test, with little to no analysis of the results of the test! God help you if you want to find out the results of the test! In the end, it is just a series of appointment after appointment being scheduled! When you are at the appointment, you have the feeling that you are quickly being hustled in and out! God help you if you have a somewhat nuanced question to ask! Unless you have a very straightforward problem, you are in for one hell of a ride! Do yourself a favor, and look elsewhere! This is one doctor to avoid like the plague! I did not adequately understand the areas that urologists are responsible for, versus the areas that GIs are responsible for. Dr Brecht was trying to treat my GI issues (constipation from a distended colon, and hemorrhoids) herself instead of referring me to a GI dr who would have been actually been able to help with the condition! Instead she “fumbled” around trying to “treat” the condition, despite the fact that it is outside of realm of her discipline, namely UROLOGY! Eventually, she referred me to a GI dr for the hemorrhoids, but she continued to “try” to treat the distended colon herself! After while it became apparent that she had no idea what she was doing (and was ignoring my calls regarding the pain I was in), so I ditched her and went to a GI dr! I might as well have been seeing a nurse practitioner! Don’t let this happen to you!
