Finding a great in-network gastroenterologist hasn't been an easy task for me. I finally found Dr. Fine several glowing reviews about his care for patients. Since, I've been eager to get an appointment with him. Unfortunately, he only sees patients one day a week, which means he's booked out several months. This isn't unusual. Inconvenient, yes, but somewhat expected. HOWEVER, trying to ACTUALLY book an appointment with him took two attempts over two days and resulted in frustration of grand proportion. I've never ever been treated so rudely by anyone. The receptionist didn't understand how military health insurance works and was demanding information that doesn't exist. It's my understanding that her job is to book appointments and my job is to make sure my insurance is lined up for the appointment. Apparently this receptionist holds the keys to the kingdom, because she couldn't be convinced. After spending several minutes trying to convince her that my visit was approved (to no avail), I wasn't going to be able to keep my cool anymore, so I told her I was going to have to hang up and call back another time because I was so frustrated. I called back the next business day and waited 12+ minutes on hold before to my great disappointment the same receptionist intercepted my call. She is either the only receptionist who books appointments, or I have seriously bad luck. With continued encouragement she was able to run my insurance with the information I provided (like every other office EVER has done). She still wouldn't book until she had my referral in-hand, so I managed to get it to her during our call. Even then, I had to push to get on the calendar because she wanted notes from my most recent visit with my primary care before booking. After 40 minutes on the phone (!!!) I had an appointment booked one week later to see a nurse practitioner. Heaven forbid I have to check in with this receptionist when I arrive because I might lose my MIND if she demands an insurance card for me to be seen ... because in a week's time we still won't have one! Getting an appointment with this office was a battle. I haven't been well for a long time and the last thing I want is to have to fight to be seen by people who can hopefully help me. I am hopeful that the care I receive from providers at this office far surpasses the way I was treated by their phone staff (dreamers can dream, right?).
People are nice but the phone service is horrible, been on hjomd for 6 minutes, you have to listen to whole message before selecting and it's dead air , i called to cancel appointment no one answered so i am, now i guess it's no call no show because no one answered and can't leave message
