Sail Boston!!!! So excited for this event! My older brother was killed in an accident aboard the USCG Cutter Eagle in 1998. We were leaving the event from Castle Island when we encountered traffic near the JFK T stop...I noticed 2 Transit Police officers ahead about 150 yards standing on the side of the road talking. (Not directing traffic at the only stop the shuttles were running to) From about 75-100 yards I gave a quick beep of the horn to signal that the light was now green and that the traffic cops weren't directing anyone. Traffic began to move and the cop started yelling at me, "Are you gonna beep now you friggen moron?" Throwing his hands up at me I gave another quick beep. I was compelled to stop in the middle of the street and get his badge number and name. I didn't. Instead I returned home and called in a report to the Transit Authority. The dispatch told me that I was in the wrong, that horns are only for emergencies... I have Disabled Marine Corps Veteran Plates, and had my family in the car, including my 12 year old daughter. Not an acceptable way to represent the city guys. Total Disrespect. Ships were beautiful.
